Sweet, sexy, and rushed

I really enjoyed reading this book, but I was pretty disappointed with the ending. It felt very rushed - there is so much lead-up to the characters, and then a little bit of an issue between them, and then suddenly everything's all better, the end. Rita is very likable, but it would have been nice to hear a bit more from her perspective about why she is attracted to Matthew (besides his green eyes) that lead her to never give her virginity to another man but to choose this man on their first date. Matthew could have been a wonderfully deep character, but all we find out about him happens before he is in a relationship with Rita. They never do work out why he throws her out of his house (the reader knows, but they never manage to communicate the miscommunication to each other), and why does the author spend so much time proposing that Matthew's family won't approve of Rita if, in the end, she is going to gloss over how happy they are about the match?
This is a fun read, and I'll be looking up other books by Elizabeth Bevarly. The writing style is refreshing and light, and you find yourself caring about the characters. Which makes the quick and undeveloped ending even less satisfactory. I hope she does a better job on the next one.
