A little background -- I'm a web developer, not a server guy.

For me, this book had way too many errors. It had me change settings of things that it didn't have me create. I would have to google stuff to figure out how to create the things so I could change some settings for them.

This books was a nightmare to get through.

The book and the movie are DIFFERENT.

Okay, let's set the record straight here. "The Flight Of Dragons" _has no plot_. Some of these reviews are referring to the wonderful characters, amazing plot line, etc. Obviously, these people haven't read the book. This book is a scientific view on how dragons could have actually existed. It gives theories on how they breathed fire, flew, lived, etc., drawing on evidence from story lore and legend. Now, for those of you who are thinking of the _movie_ "The Flight Of Dragons", yes, the movie was based on this book. But it was only based on it in terms of how the dragons were designed. The (very) basic plot and the wonderful characters were taken from Gordon R. Dickson's amazing book "The Dragon And The George". But the book "The Flight Of Dragons" is much different from the movie. For one thing, Peter Dickenson views dragons as lethargic beasts with a dull intelligence. He included a chapter on dragon-slaying, which, to me, was something of the last straw. Also, some of the pictures done by Wayne Anderson are horrific. I especially "enjoyed" the photos in the back of art from around the world----one had a picture of a troll-like "dragon" eating a man's head! . . . Now, don't get me wrong. This is a good book. Some of the pictures are fantastic. And most of Peter Dickenson's theories----especially the one about why there are no fossils of dragons------were really neat. And I love his saying: "Remember. The dragons live. Inside us." It's a decent book. But I spent nearly a year trying desperately to get my hands on a copy, and while it is interesting and a valuable addition to my collection of dragon lore, I was disappointed. But maybe I shouldn't judge something on my own expectations (obviously). But I did want all to understand . . . the book and movie are very different. If you want to re-meet the characters of "The Flight Of Dragons" from the movie, read "The Dragon And The George", an excellent book. And give the book "The Flight Of Dragons" a try. Just don't set your expectations too high!

Bravo to Dickinson for giving dragons a fighting chance!

This is a book for all of you out there who know that dragons are more than just fairytale creations to frighten small children. And for those of you who ARE convinced that dragons belong purely to fantasy, I invite you to come, read, and have your mind changed by this beautiful, engagingly written book. (It's science-friendly, too!) Peter Dickinson does a wonderful job of building up a theory by which dragons could once have truly roamed the skies and terrorized innocent villagers. His ideas are sound, his message clear, and through it all he maintains a tone which keeps the reader asking for more.

I am nine years old and i think this book is COMPLETELY cool. Even though I suspect it was meant for older kids (or even adults) I would definitely reccomend getting it, even though it's expensive. This books has lots of interesting theories and puts a lot of imaginative ideas in your head. In addition, it has amazing pictures! My favorite part is when they use a diagram of dinner plates and bricks to discuss a theory of how dragons flew. I have more to say, but must restrain myself to only two words: "must buy". Ben Z.

Teaches you how to think logically...

Building Left-Brain Power is somewhat of a bittersweet book because of it's inconsistency throughout the entire book. The
book begins with "easy" logic puzzles such as unscrambling words
and such and ends with the hardest logic puzzles which are
code-breakers.
The book provides a preface at the beginning of most chapters
to give you help in trying to find a logical way of thinking to
tackle a particular problem. This quality I found to be unique
and very valuable as opposed to most books with logic puzzles
just poured in there and leave you frustrated because you can't
figure them out.
Here's what's horrible about this book though. There are type-o's
in the answer keys (which I was amazed at how terribly obvious
they were considering they were not caught before publication). I only spotted two obvious ones though.
The other thing that drove me nuts was that there was no logic
whatsoever to explaining how they arrived at some of their
answers. Many times, I gave other people the problem to look at
WITH the answer that I had looked up and asked them to figure
out how they came up with that answer...no one knew. Was it
another type-o? No clue.
This book has some great qualities, and some terrible qualities
which I thought averaged it out to a 2.5 star book, however, I
rounded up because of the very inexpensive price.

UNBELIEVABLY GOOD!

I am currently using the book "Building Left-Brain Power" in my homeschooling activities, and was planning to complete one chapter per week with my 10-year-old daughter Jasmine, but she loves this book too much to put it down! We started on Monday and have already finished 2 chapters. I'm really looking forward to the number exercises. I love math, and can see that all three of my kids will do really well if we continue using the same type of challenging exercises together in school.

I am currently using the book "Building Left-Brain Power" in my homeschooling activities, and was planning to complete one chapter per week with my 10-year-old daughter Jasmine, but she loves this book too much to put it down! We started on Monday and have already finished 2 chapters. I'm really looking forward to the number exercises. I love math, and can see that all three of my kids will do really well if we continue using the same type of challenging exercises together in school.

Very practical and a wonderful read

I am always looking for effective parenting strategies that are easy to follow. I love this book. The book is interesting and so it is enjoyable to read. The advice is practical and easy to follow. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for better ways to reach our children from an Islamic perspective based on Quran and Sunnah. I highly recommend it.

After explaining the WMSH, Sneddon presents a series of more particular hypotheses about distinct aspects of our moral psychology: moral judgment, moral reasoning, the attribution of moral responsibility, and production of action. Sneddon revisits overlooked externalist aspects of moral psychology, noting the integration of agent and environment found in existing research. With Like-Minded, Sneddon offers an innovative contribution to work in both moral psychology and the Extended Mind Hypothesis.

About the Author
Andrew Jennings is an internationally respected journalist, writer and film-maker. His seminal book exposing Olympic corruption 'The Lords of the Rings' was an international bestseller in 1992. He has written for The Times, Daily Mail, Sunday Times and New Statesman as well as for publications all over Europe. For many years he produced and reported for Granada TV's World in Action and also for BBC radio and television.

Far reaching accusations, but still entertaining

There is no doubt that Andrew Jennings did his research and has solid contacts inside FIFA, that lead to him writing his book Foul. But sometimes I felt like he jumped to conculsions that some of the evidence didn't present. On the other hand, because of FIFA's lack of transparency, there may be no other way to prove some of the points. Over all it is still an entertaining and interesting book. Opens the curtains to how cut-throat the politics inside the orgainizations are, and why it takes some bad people to navigate it.

It's all come out now in 2012

This book is what I see as an almost continuation of another book called "Badfellas" FIFA Family at War. It take over where it left off with the election of Blatter and a continuation of the research done discovering all the atrocities of soccer's governing body. Only now in July of 2012 does most of this information come to public light as the Swiss courts just exposed Blatters mentor Havelange & his step son Texeira of Brazil. It was eye opening then and sort of funny to see it all come to fruition as those who made Blatter in the last decade or more are the ones he is turning on and burying to save his own skin.

A dry look at a crooked organization

This book focuses on FIFA, the organization that manages soccer throughout the world. They are best known in the US for the World Cup, but the tentacles of this group reach into every aspect of pro and amateur soccer in the US and the world. If you like financial intrigue and organizational shenanigans, you will probably find many parts of this book interesting. My problem with it is that the author seems to try to hard to tell a compelling story, and it makes reading the book tedious. Having said that, the author has obviously researched the material and has done a fantastic job of uncovering some very bad behavior, and he should be commended for pointing out the wrong doings of this powerful organization.
