A great Read/Method for any Jazz Student or teacher!!

This book covers "articulation" of a jazz musician, but is also a great overall text to understand jazz phrasing. There is a ton of content in this book!! The chapters are well organized, the text is informative, and it s one of those texts, that we as music students and teachers have been waiting for for a long time. The example tracks (original songs by Mr. Coffin) are tailored perfectly for each lesson, and are expertly played by Coffin, as well as Victor and Roy (futureman) Wooten. I am definitely already teaching these concepts to private studens, and plan onusing them with the local high school jazz band that I work with. Kudos on an Awesome Book!!

Fun read

I loved catching up with the characters from the original Royals of Monterra stories. Ms. Connolly definitely remained true to the characters, their voice, and personalities. As someone who enjoyed following the births of the royal babies in England, it was fun to read about what that might have been like for them "behind the scenes".

While I did enjoy the book, I couldn't quite give it 5 stars. There were some grammar errors, and while there were main section breaks (dividing up the trimesters---chapter five's title "The Seventh Trimester" really cracked me up), there weren't any natural dividers within chapters indicating a change of location, which was kind of hard to track at times. My one other issue was with Kat's constant pregnancy complaints. Hey, I have four kids. I know how that goes---particularly that last month. And while I appreciate the author's intent to keep things as realistic as possible, it is a fiction story. Some of that was a bit repetitive and could've been left out. Just my opinion, mind. There may be others who disagree.

I've enjoyed the author's other novels and look forward to reading more.

A charming extended epilogue to Royal Date

I was a little weary of a sequel coming from a different author but this was still a very fun, enjoyable read. I fell in love with the characters from Sariah Wilson's "Royal Date" that I just wanted more of their story. Royal Delivery really functions as an extended epilogue and focuses on the fears, challenges, and highlights of a pregnancy (or two) in a loving family. This book was charming, funny, and lovely.

My only critique is that the voice of Kat was different from Wilson's version. Connolly's Kat is more sassy and witty, which although I thoroughly enjoyed didn't seem to pull from Kat's previous character development. (Of course though, this story takes place more than a year after Wilson's novel and the character could have gained more confidence.)

This is my favorite story in the The Royals of Monterra kindleworld so far. It seems like it could have been written by Sariah Wilson. The characters have same feel to them.

It is funny caring, snarky and tender as we see Kat go through her pregnancy. She is Queen Kat now. The world is watching her. The King is willing to do anything for her.

I would like to read more books by Rebecca Connolly.

About the Author
The Authors: Joe L. Kincheloe is the Belle Zeller Chair of Public Policy and Administration at CUNY Brooklyn College and a professor at Penn State University. He is the author of many books and articles including: Toil and Trouble: The Integration of Academic and Vocational Education; Teachers as Researchers: Qualitative Paths to Empowerment; Getting beyond the Facts: Teaching Social Studies in the Late Twentieth Century. His most recent book is The Sign of the Burger: McDonald's and the Culture of Control. He is also the co-editor with Shirley R. Steinberg of Kinderculture: The Corporate Construction of Childhood.
Shirley R. Steinberg teaches at Adelphi University Soho Center and Garden City, New York. She is an educational consultant and director of social drama for youth. Her latest books are Changing Multiculturalism with Joe L. Kincheloe, and Contextualizing Teaching with Joe L. Kincheloe and Patrick Slattery. She is also the co-editor of Students as Researchers; Unauthorized Methods: Strategies for Critical Teaching; Measured Lies: The Bell Curve Examined; and White Reign: Deploying Whiteness in America.
Deborah J. Tippins is a well-known science educator and Associate Professor of Science Education and Elementary Education at the University of Georgia. She is the author of many articles on science and education. Her most recent book, The Promises and Dilemmas of Middle and Secondary Science Teaching: A Classroom Case Handbook, is co-edited with Thomas Kobala. Formerly director of research for the National Science Teachers Association, she is widely traveled and deeply involved in working with various foundations and science organizations.

About the Author
Matthias Dehmer studied mathematics at the University of Siegen (Germany) and received his Ph.D. in computer science from the Technical University of Darmstadt (Germany). Afterwards, he was a research fellow at Vienna Bio Center (Austria) and at Vienna University of Technology. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at UMIT - The Health and Life Sciences University (Austria). His research interests are in bioinformatics, chemical graph theory, systems biology, complex networks, statistics and information theory. In particular, he is also working on machine learning-based methods to design new data analysis methods for solving problems in computational biology and medicinal chemistry.

Kurt Varmuza studied chemistry at the Vienna University of Technology (Austria). His research activities were first mass spectrometry and then moved to chemometrics - mainly the application of multivariate statistical analysis for chemistry related problems, such as spectra-structure relationships and structureproperty relationships. Since 1992, he has been working as a professor at the Vienna University of Technology, currently at the Institute of Chemical Engineering.

Danail Bonchev received his Ph. D. in quantum chemistry in Sofia, Bulgaria and D. Sc. in mathematical chemistry from the Moscow State University in Russia. He worked till 1992 as a professor of physical chemistry in the Assen Zlatarov University in Bourgas, Bulgaria. In 1992 he joined Texas A&M University at Galveston, and since 2003 he is professor at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. His research includes quantum chemistry, molecular topology, QSPR and QSAR and, recently, bioinformatics and computational biology.

Each word and each idea in the epistle have been discussed with the class, every member of which had the utmost liberty to suggest his difficulty, to ask questions, to oppose, to deny, or to call up the contrary view of any commentator. This book is the outcome of these years of study and discussion. While the very words written by the apostle have been considered and weighed one by one, the result is not presented in that form, nor with any but the very least reference to the Greek. There is a large class of men, educated men, who, after all, can read a commentary with most satisfaction and profit in English. This book is especially designed for them. Excellent book. My chess

Excellent book. My chess.com rating increased from around 1725 to 1900 within 4 months of reading it.

One of the key benefits to me is that I was able to adjust my mental process when examining the board in an effective way. I no longer feel like I’m randomly scanning the board for opportunities and threats. Instead, I find opportunities and threats faster, and see ones I missed before.

Some key reasons I recommend this book in general:

1) Systematic method for selecting moves; not focused on memorization

2) Plentiful step-by-step examples throughout the book

3) Integrated design: I was able to understand everything without setting up a chessboard to follow along, enabling me to read the big anywhere.

4) Writing style. It was fun to read!

Even better than the first one

A consistent continuation of the first volume which was focusing more on theory, now we have practical applications. Actually, scores of practical applications. Except for the absolute beginners who have just learned how pieces move, this is an excellent choice for anyone to improve their chess (and for the beginners there is the first volume). The approach here is unique, something that I have yet to see in any other chess book because this one goes into very great depths of why one plan is better than the other, pointing out the smallest nuances on the way. Apart from the clear and consistent explenations, there are "challenges" for each and every position in the book and the solution to these challenges are not explained, so the student should spend time to work on and them and this is very motivating I think. 5/5 for me definitely

An extremely helpful book for improving your chess skills. The book lays out in a clear, consistent manner a process for making a decision. Many specific positions discussed demonstrating the process. Every other chess book I have read (many) points out the correct moves in a given position, but there is no transferable skill for making a decison in other positions. With the process discussed in this book, you have a method for looking at any position and making a decision. The most important thing is that you can practice and practice the method until you get better. I'm not saying it's easy! There is a checklist at the end of the book summarizing the process which you can use and make your own. Everything else was fine - diagrams, examples, etc. This book is vol. 2 and you should read vol 1 first.
